Overview

ECU Parking & Transportation is excited to be opening ECU’s first parking garage!

Opening January 7, 2019!

Opening week, we’ll have an informational table set up with give-away items, a food truck, and other festivities!  Make sure to keep checking our website and twitter @ECU_Parking for more info.  As it progresses, we’ll also keep posting the pictures on our instagram page at ecu_parking

Types of Permits Sold?

Faculty/Staff will have opportunity to purchase a garage permit for 24/7 access.

Commuting students will have an opportunity to purchase one of two types of the garage permits we’ll have available for commuters:

  1. Commuter student permit for Evening (after 5:30pm weekdays) and anytime on weekends garage parking only, OR
  2. Commuter student permit that would also allow access to the C zone during the day in addition to the garage in the evenings (after 5:30pm weekdays) and anytime on weekends.

 

When will the permits be available for sale?

First day of sales begins December 3rd at 7:30am for the 24/7 faculty/staff permit and the two different types of commuter student permits. These permits will only be available for purchase at our main campus office.  The schedule in which the garage permits are sold is outlined below.  Emails will be sent out to each Faculty & Staff group when they are eligible to begin purchasing.

Garage permits will be offered to the current permit holders on the following schedule:

  1. Reserve Permit holders, current A1 permit holders, and commuter students (December 3rd)
  2. A1 waiting list and current B1 permit holders (December 10th)

Garage Specs

The garage will have 709 regular spaces and 15 ADA spaces for a total of 724 spaces.

Permit Exchange Process

Faculty/Staff:

  1. Payroll Deduction – 1st deduction on new payment plans will begin on February 15, 2019 for $300. Each month after February, the sale price will be pro-rated.  What has been paid on plans for other permits up to that point will not go towards price of garage permit. Prior plans will be stopped, and new ones will begin.
  2. If Paying Outright – Will only pay $300 during pre-sales through January 30th. Each month after February, the sale price will be pro-rated.  For exchanges, previous permits will be returned based on current return schedule (see refund schedule HERE) and what would have been refunded will go towards the price of the garage permit.

Students:

  1. Previous permits will be returned based on current return schedule (see refund schedule HERE) and what would have been refunded will go towards the price of the garage permit. Permits purchased after February will be pro-rated.
