Greenville Leased Parking

Greenville Leased parking in privately-owned lots is another parking option for faculty/staff and students.  Please note, these are NOT ECU-OWNED OR MONITORED parking lots and all questions would need to be directed to the contact person of each lot.

If you are unable to find available leased parking on this list, you may try contacting nearby local businesses, churches or restaurants with large parking lots, to see if they are interested in leasing a space.

If you are an owner of a local parking lot with spaces for lease, please contact ECU Parking so you can be added to the list: (252) 328-6294.

The City of Greenville

The City of Greenville and East Carolina University have both adopted similar zoned parking systems, which can be confusing to anyone who is not aware of the distinctive differences.

For more information about parking in the City of Greenville, you can visit their website: Parking in the City of Greenville. If you have questions about whether or not an area is ECU owned, then you can call ECU Parking and Transportation at 328-6294 or email us at parking@ecu.edu

Listed below are some guidelines to follow to help recognize an ECU parking zone from a City of Greenville parking zone:

The City of Greenville

  • The City of Greenville only has a single letter (i.e. A, B, C) for their zones posted on their signs.
  • Their parking zones include parallel parking such as those lining streets like 1st Street or in the residential, side streets off 5th Street.
  • The parking zone signs are much smaller than ECU’s signs, are red and white, and have ‘No Parking’ at the top followed by which permit can still park there during certain hours.
  • The City of Greenville also has green and white, 2 hour parking signs

  • All of the signs/permits for ECU zones have a letter AND a number (i.e. A1, A2, B1, B2, etc.) posted on them.
  • ECU zoned parking spaces are within actual parking lots that have an official ECU sign at the entrance that is color coded to the type of zone its for (i.e. purple, blue, yellow).
  • ECU does not have exclusive 2 hour parking signs.
