2021 Fall Move-In
NOTIFICATION OF PARKING AND TRAFFIC ADJUSTMENTS FOR STUDENT MOVE-IN
2021 Move-In: Tuesday, August 17 (early move-in) thru Saturday, August 21
Welcome back, Pirate Nation! ECU Parking Services would like to inform you about parking adjustments Monday, August 16 thru Saturday, August 21 to accommodate our students during move-in.
If traveling or parking on the main campus, please take note of the adjustments below. Please pay careful attention when driving on campus as there will be many pedestrians during the move-in process.
A1 Parking North of the Eakin Student Recreation Center:
- The A1 zone north of the campus recreation center will be 1-hour loading zone, Monday, August 16 & Tuesday, August 17. Beginning Wednesday, August 18, this lot will act as the staging area for emergency vehicles only. This lot will resume normal operations Sunday, August 22.
- Displaced staff may find parking available in the MCSC Parking Garage, August 18 – 20.
A1 Parking West of the Main Campus Student Center:
- A1 zones West of the Main Campus Student Center will be 1-hour loading zones, Wednesday, August 18, Thursday, August 19, & Friday, August 20. This area will also be used for the Pirate Palooza event on Saturday, August 21. These lots will resume normal operations Sunday August 22.
- Displaced staff may find parking available in the MCSC Parking Garage, August 18 – 20.
A1 Parking core campus West:
- A1 zones West of Wright Circle (A1 zones near Old Cafeteria, Mamie Jenkins, Jenkins Art, and Erwin) and south of Mendenhall will be 1-hour loading zones, Wednesday, August 18, Thursday, August 19, & Friday, August 20. These lots will resume normal operations on Sunday, August 22.
- Chancellors Way A1 parking near Spilman, Cotten, Fleming, & Jarvis will be 1-hour loading zones, Wednesday, August 18, Thursday, August 19, & Friday, August 20. Chancellors Way will return to normal operation Monday, August 23, 7:00 a.m.
- Only vehicles displaying Move-In passes, emergency vehicles, and ECU Facilities vehicles will be permitted to enter these zones.
- Displaced staff may find parking available in the MCSC Parking Garage, August 18 – 20.
B1 Parking:
- Staff/faculty parking in B1 zone can access the large B1 zone lot and the B1 zone lot located at 10th St. and College Hill Drive via 10th St. College Hill Drive will be one-way from the top of the hill to 10th St. This will begin the morning of Wednesday, August 18. Traffic will resume normal flow Saturday, August 21, 7:00 a.m.
Traffic Flow adjustments and Street Closures:
- Faculty Way will be one-way traffic beginning Wednesday, August 18 thru Friday, August 20. Traffic will flow from the East (Wright Circle) to the West of (Garrett/Mamie Jenkins). Traffic will resume normal flow Saturday, August 21.
- College Hill Drive will be one-way traffic between 14th Street at the top of College Hill, and the large B1 zone lot on lower College Hill Drive. Traffic will flow one-way from the top of College Hill at 14thStreet, down to 10th St. This will begin the morning of Wednesday, August 18. Traffic will resume normal flow Saturday, August 21 at 7:00 a.m.
- 14th Street will be closed between Elm Street and Charles Blvd. from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., August 18, 19, & 20. Only vehicles with valid move-in credentials, emergency vehicles and ECU Facilities vehicles will be allowed to enter the closed portion of 14th Street.
All areas that have not resumed normal patterns on dates noted above, will return to their normal designation and operation on Monday, August 23, 2021 for the first day of classes.
