PARKING ADJUSTMENTS FOR HOME FOOTBALL & HOMECOMING: 

Campus parking and traffic adjustments are planned for the ECU Pirate home football game on Saturday, October 2, 2021. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. for this Homecoming game. It’s also a “Paint it Purple” game, so be sure to wear your purple!!

HOMECOMING EVENTS

Numerous campus events take place all week.  Remember that all parking on campus is by permit, or paid parking. Pay station parking spaces must be kept activated.  The Student Center Garage will continue to operate normally at a cost of $1/hour.

Homecoming Parade:
Parade begins at 9:00 a.m., Saturday, October 2nd, along 5th Street from Hilltop Street to Evans Street. (also Livestream on Facebook). The parking permit requirement is relaxed on campus during the parade, from approximately 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.

 

PARKING ADJUSTMENTS BEGINNING FRIDAY, OCTOBER 1, 2021:

The D ZONE lots on Curry Court and around the Carol Belk Building will be closed beginning Friday, October 1st at 12 noon.  D zone permit holders may park in A1 on main campus or B1 spaces on Reade Street beginning at 12 noon, Friday. All vehicles must be moved from the Curry Court and Belk building lots no later than 7 p.m., Friday, October 1st, or they will be relocated by a towing establishment. Contact ECU Parking for information about picking up your relocated vehicle if towed, (252) 328-6294, or the ECU Police, (252) 328-6787 if it is after 5 p.m. on Friday.

Vehicles registered for C Zone lots near the stadium and athletic complexes must be moved by 7 p.m. Friday, October 1st, or they will be relocated by a towing establishment.

C Zone and B1 Zone permit holders may park in the A1 Zone spaces beginning at noon, Friday, October 1st if needed.

D Zone parking lot off of Charles Boulevard

As always, vehicles cannot park in reserved spaces, ADA spaces (handicapped spaces) unless authorized by our office, maintenance/service areas, no parking zones or fire zones.

Pay station parking spaces must be kept activated.  The Student Center Garage will continue to operate normally at a cost of $1/hour.

All vehicles must be returned to their respective, registered zones by 6 a.m., Monday, October 4th.

ALTERNATIVE PARKING:

Alternative parking for students, staff and faculty begins at noon, Friday, October 1st.

  • D zone permit holders should relocate their vehicles to the A1 spaces on Main Campus or B1 spaces on Reade Street (Do not park in large B1 lot on lower College Hill as this is used for game day Student Pirate Club parking, nor in the A1 areas in front of Fletcher Music, Brewster Building, or Christenbury Gym as these spaces are used for ADA parking for the game).
  • C zone and B1 zone permit holders will be allowed to park in the A1 zone spaces on main campus.
  • A2 zones on College Hill will remain only accessible to A2 permit holders.

ECU students or staff requesting accommodation under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) should call 252-737-1016 (voice/TTY) at least 48 hours prior to the event.

STUDENT PIRATE CLUB:

The B1 lot at the bottom of College Hill is designated for the Student Pirate Club. If you are a STUDENT Pirate Club member, you must obtain a Student Pirate Club permit from the Pirate Club office and have it properly displayed on your vehicle. A Student Pirate Club parking pass is needed to park in the B1 lot at the bottom of College Hill on Saturday, October 2nd. This lot opens at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.

If you are a member of the Student Pirate Club and have a D permit, you still have to move your car out of the Curry Court and Belk Building lots.

Pirate Club and Student Pirate Club game day parking permits are issued by the Pirate Club. Parking and Transportation Services does not issue Pirate Club or Student Pirate Club parking credentials. All cars must be returned to their respective zones by 6 a.m., Monday, October 4th, 2021.

OTHER GAME DAY INFORMATION:

Road closure: 9:00 a.m. to conclusion of parade:
A portion of 5th Street will be closed to traffic on Saturday, October 2nd for the Homecoming Parade. The parade route is along 5th St. between Hilltop St. and Evans St.

Other road closures 3 hours prior to kick-off:

  • 14th Street from Charles Boulevard to Elm Street.
  • College Hill Drive entrance at 10th Street.

Three hours prior to kick off, 14th Street from Charles Blvd. to Elm Street will be closed to all in-coming traffic. Vehicles will be allowed to exit but will not be allowed to re-enter, even if you have an ECU permit.

College Hill Drive entrance at 10th Street will be closed. Only Student Pirate Club game day parking passes and A2 permit vehicles will be allowed to enter.

Due to street closures, drivers are advised to travel at least one road farther from the athletic complex than their usual route. For example:

  • Those who usually travel Charles Boulevard should use Evans Street.
  • Those who usually travel 10th Street should use Fifth Street.
  • Those who usually travel Greenville Boulevard should use Red Banks Road.

Game Day Visitors / Public Parking open at 9:30 a.m., October 2nd:
  • Parking lots on Curry Court and around the Carol Belk Building are for ECU Pirate Club members (non-student). A parking pass is required; however a limited amount of public parking will be available for $20 in this area, first come, first served.
  • Visitors needing Handicapped/ADA parking may park in in the A1 zone spaces in front of Brewster and Christenbury on a first come, first served basis. There is a $20 fee to park in this lot. Shuttle service to and from the stadium is provided to individuals using this lot, beginning 3 hours prior to kick off, and ending 1 hour after the game.
  • Due to space availability, visitor permits will NOT be sold for the A2 College Hill area for game day weekends. Visitors may park free of charge in the B1 zones on Reade Street on game day weekends and must be moved by 6 a.m. on Monday.
  • The Main Campus Student Center parking garage off of 10th Street is a convenient walk to the stadium. Parking is $1/hour. No tailgating is permitted in the garage.
  • Visitors may also park free of charge in the Five Points Public Parking lot at the corner of 5th Street and Evans Street in Uptown Greenville. A privately-run shuttle will operate beginning 3 hours before game time until 2 hours after the game. ECU TRANSIT

ECU Transit will have some adjustments to their routes on game days. Please visit https://transit.ecu.edu for details.  Face coverings are required on ECU Transit buses.

 

RIDE SHARING SERVICES

East Carolina Athletics has established a pickup and drop-off point for Uber and Lyft on Game Day Saturdays.
 
Prior to kickoff and during and after game, ride-sharing drop-off will be at 14th Street between Elm St. and Berkley Rd. Ride sharing and personal vehicles, including golf carts & low speed vehicles, will NOT be allowed access beyond campus roadblocks without proper credentials. This policy includes all ride sharing services.
