Membership:
Members are appointed through the following:
- The Faculty Senate appoints 3 members through their Committee on Committees process
- The Chair of the Faculty appoints 1representative
- Student organizations appoint 4 student representatives through the Student Activities and Organizations process.
- The Staff Senate appoints 2 representatives- One Main Campus Representative and One Health Science Campus Representative.
- The Americans with Disabilities Act Coordinator will be an appointed Staff
- The Associate Vice Chancellor for Campus Safety & Auxiliary Services (AVC CSAS) requests participation from other staff members based on their expertise in areas relating to parking and transportation This includes: planning, architecture, ADA, safety and security, transit, parking and grounds operations.
- The Director of Disability Support Services will serve as a voting member based on regulatory role.
Committee Purpose and Responsibilities:
The ECU Parking and Transportation Committee is an integral component of the University planning process. The advisory Committee’s broad-based representation of campus constituents serves as a recommending body for university administrators who make short and long-range parking and transportation decisions.
The advisory committee is charged with the following responsibilities:
- Providing effective input to the planning process to ensure maximum allotment of parking spaces, their locations, and designations.
- Creating and disseminating administrative policies, procedures, and
- Assisting the Department of Parking and Transportation Services with public relations programs and promoting community interaction through informational exchanges.
- Representing the greatest cross-section of the University community
Terms of Office:
Terms in office for members are on a 1-year basis, with a term extension approved by the individual making the appointment and the Associate Vice Chancellor for Campus Safety & Auxiliary Services.

Standard Meeting Times:
The committee meets on the third Wednesday of each quarter throughout the year. Meetings are scheduled for January, April, July, and September.
